Russia’s Rusnano to invest 10 bln rbl in wind power projects

MOSCOW, Oct 13 (PRIME) -- Russian state nanotechnology company Rusnano is establishing an international consortium to invest up to 10 billion rubles in wind power projects, CEO Anatoly Chubais said at a congress on Thursday.

“Rusnano has decided on launch of a large wind power project, with all components of both equipment making and construction of power stations in Russia. And the decision we’ve made means that we will allocate more than 10 billion rubles. We will start producing seriously and for real,” Chubais said.

Rusnano said in August that is will organize production of blades for wind generators with China’s DEW in the Ulyanovsk Region, where Russia’s first large wind power park will be built by Fortum. Its first stage will have a capacity of 35 megawatt (MW), which will later be increased to 350 MW.

Rusnano also plans to allocate one billion rubles for local production of components.
